Emergency Department Renovation

In 2017, after years of planning the anticipated renovations where completed for the Emergency Department at Memorial Hospital of Converse County.

The renovations were a much needed update to the hospital facility. The implemented plans include a dedication to further privacy, handling trauma, and a more modern design in line with other areas of the hospital. The updated space was renovated by Colorado based Haseldan Construction and the staff moved in just in time for most of the summer season.

The Emergency Department renovations represented several years of fundraising on the behalf of the Converse County Hospital Foundation, as well a dedication for the Hospital administration and the larger community of Douglas. The Foundation made the Emergency Department our Capital Campaign for three years, and devoted many years of larger scale event fundraisers such as our Boots 'n' Bling and larger physician and staff appeals.

“We are thankful to the Converse County Hospital Foundation, our staff, providers and the community. Together we have raised more than $500,000 towards the estimated $800,000 renovation,” said Memorial Hospital of Converse County CEO, Ryan Smith.

Jennifer Rinn, Executive Director of the Converse County Hospital Foundation, had this to say about the completion of the Capital Campaign: “I am very grateful to our generous community for once again supporting a good cause. Without that support we would not be able to do what we do. The Emergency Department Renovation was much needed and the completed project provides our patients with a beautiful, more modern facility that offers them more privacy. I am so proud of our Donors and the Converse County Hospital Foundation’s commitment to this project.”

The Emergency Department serves many of the citizens of Converse County at some point in their lives. We are delighted that our recent capital campaign can help so many of our friends and neighbors in the community have access to the compassionate and excellent care available at Memorial Hospital of Converse County!
